THEME
Subspace is accepting submissions to exhibit at ROTica for gallery openings on Friday December 5th, Saturday December 6th, and Saturday January 3rd. This year's theme is "Initiations". We're looking for erotic artwork that portrays the beginnings of things. Comings of age, erotic explorations and discoveries, the start of a new kink, or even the beginning of an ending.
ROTica welcomes and uplifts marginalized and underrepresented bodies and experiences.

You can submit up to three pieces and/or concepts, they don't all have to be the same modality. We are hoping to include 2D and 3D works as well as live performances - including performance art, poetry/zine readings, music, or anything else you might want to share within the theme. All physical pieces must be delivered locally and ready to hang.
IF YOU HAVE IDEAS, BUT NOT FINISHED PIECES YET
Please include what you can for reference, and as much information about the idea you have as possible, though of course we know concepts change as the piece is made. So try not to feel restricted by the idea you give if something ends up being different.
We're collecting ideas for pieces (concepts) to begin with rather than solely fully rendered pieces for a few reasons. One is that we want to make sure people know they're accepted before they make a piece for the show. Another is so that we can make sure pieces being made truly fit the theme. But mostly, we want people to put thought and intention into this theme, and doing this allows for artists interested in taking part the time to be able to really think about and flush out their ideas.

Please fill out all the same info about the piece(s) and submit an image of each in prompted area. No need to fill the "piece in a similar style" and "portfolio" questions.
Here's how it'll work:
Timeline
Form Deadline: Complete this form by Sunday, October 12th. We're asking for the concept of the piece(s) you'd like to create for the show, not the finished product (unless you already have one ready – feel free to submit that, too!).
Flexibility for Emerging Artists: We understand not everyone has access to the same resources. If you don’t have a full portfolio or high-quality pictures of previous work, that’s okay! Just do your best with what you have.
Acceptance Emails: We’ll send out acceptance notifications by October 20th. Once accepted, you can confidently begin working on the piece(s) you submitted.
Artwork Drop-Off: Drop off your work at Subspace on Sunday, November 30th or Monday, December 1st from 11am-7pm.
Artwork Pickup: After Artwalk on Saturday January 3rd 7-9, or Sunday January 4th and Monday January 5th 11am-7pm
Exhibit Dates:
Grand Opening: December 5th, 6-9pm
First Saturday Artwalk: December th, 4-8pm
January Artwalk / Closing Reception: January 3rd, 6-8pm
Please note: There is no fee to be a part of the gallery show, but know that Subspace collects a 30% commission on all artwork sold from our gallery. Work is not required to be for sale. We will ask for a $5-10 suggested donation upon drop off, as we are all volunteers working with our limited resources to put this together.
